What you'll get

One page for every job, in plain English.

Most coverage of AI and jobs is either hype or doom. The index sticks to what the research and the official job data actually say.

01

An exposure score

A 0 to 100 score for each occupation, showing how much of the work AI tools can already help with or do.

02

Task by task

Which parts of the job are most exposed and which are not, because almost no job is all one or the other.

03

What to do next

Nearby jobs that use your skills but are less exposed, and the skills worth learning to stay ahead.

The numbers so far

This is not a niche problem.

80%

of US workers could have at least 10% of their work tasks affected by large language models. For about 19%, it's at least half of their tasks.

60%

of jobs in advanced economies like the US are exposed to AI, compared with almost 40% of jobs worldwide.

900+

US occupations are described task by task in O*NET, the Department of Labor's job database. That's what the index is built on.

How the index works

Public data, open method.

Every score will link back to its sources, and the method will be published in full, so you can check it yourself.

  1. Start with the tasks.O*NET lists the tasks that make up each US occupation.
  2. Rate each task. Each task is matched against published research on what current AI can and can't do.
  3. Add the job market.Bureau of Labor Statistics data shows how many people do the job and what it pays.
  4. Update as AI changes.Scores are reviewed as new models and new research come out, and the weekly report covers what moved.
